We are proud to raise bulls that work for real cattlemen. The Schohr Ranch has been home to livestock production for 6 generations. Our family operation is founded on the values of commercial cattlemen. In the mid 1900's Douglas Schohr raised English bred commercial cattle in the Sacramento Valley and the world's smallest mountain range - Sutter Buttes. He looked for cattle that we good mothers with a high rate of gain.
Today, our operation is based in the Sacramento Valley and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. We continue to raise cattle that are structurally sound, maternal and strong performers. The breeding program at Schohr Herefords includes genetics from nearly every state west of the Mississippi River (Kansas, Texas, North Dakota and Idaho to name a few). Annually, we sell our best bulls off the ranch and at the World of Bulls in Galt (November). We also offer for sale females and steers private treaty.
